Le Huit du RCAE: Photo - Erwin Weyers (www.avironbelgique.be)SUPER. voici le mot qui peut résumer la course du 8+ du RCAE dans l'épreuve reine des championnats de Belgique. Gilles-Maxime-Olivier-Augustin-Benjamin-Bruno-Eric-Julien barrés par Marie-Sophie sont 3ème!! et ont établis un nouveau record pour le RCAE, pulvérisant le précédent de plus de 20s.

Avant la course, les spécialistes projetaient une bataille à 2 pour la victoire entre la GRS et le Sport de Gent puis une seconde bataille pour les accessits, les 3 autres finalistes étant considérés de la même force.

Une longue attente. La course des 8+, c'est la dernière. Elle est programmée à 17h50. Comme nos rameurs avaient prévus de faire un bassin surle temps de midi, il a donc fallu patienter sous le soleil, étendus dans l'herbe ou assis dans des transats:-), les juniors avec les cours sur les genoux.

Ils l'ont fait. Comme souvent, la vérité est différente. Les spectateurs ont vu une bataille à 3 pour les deux places sur le podium. Gilles-Maxime-Olivier-Augustin-Benjamin-Bruno-Eric-Julien barrés par Marie-Sophie ont terminé 3ème juste derrière les 2 grosses écuries de la GRS et du Sport de Gent.
Dès le départ, ils se sont battus pour la deuxième place avec le Sport de Gent. Ils finissent juste derrière les deux bateaux gantois. Les suivants qui ont fait un bord à bord de 2000m sont loin. Bref, une super belle course. Tout le monde s'est bien amusé. Eric a offert tarte et champagne (également pour son anniversaire).
